  40.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  41.  cards are allowed for filenames and

  45.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  46.  the compressed by displaying a list of
  47.  files in a window.  After the window is
  48.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  49.  pressing the space bar.  After all files
  50.  have been tagged press the ENTER key to
  51.  process the tagged files.
  52.  
  53. *altc  !!add/update comments!!
  54.  This option will allow you to add or
  55.  update the compressed file comments.
  56.  
  57. *altd  !!delete all extracted!!
  58.  This option will delete all files that
  59.  are contained in the compressed file
  60.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  61.  one specified via the ALT-P command.
  62.  
  63. *alte  !!extract list!!
  64.  This option allow you to specify which
  65.  files to extract from the compressed
  66.  file. You may specify more the one
  67.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  68.  cards are allowed.
  69.  
  70. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  71.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  72.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  73.  of files in a window.  After the window
  74.  is displayed you tag the files to
  75.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  76.  After all files have been tagged press
  77.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  78.  files.
  79.  
  80. *altg   !!search for string!!
  81.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  82.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  83.  characters using the program FGREP.COM
  84.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  85.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  86.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  87.  completed to results will be listed on the
  88.  screen.
  89.  
  90. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  91.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  92.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  93.  of files in a window.  After the window
  94.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  95.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  96.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  97.  key to process the tagged files.
  98.  
  99. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  100.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  101.  files from the compressed file into the
  102.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  103.  via the ALT-P command.
  104.  
  105. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  106.  This options allows you to specify a
  107.  disk and directory of where any
  108.  extracted files will be placed.  Specify
  109.  the extract path as follows:
  110.  DISK:\DIRECTORY Pressing any key other
  111.  than the ENTER key will clear the
  112.  extract path. To display a directory
  113.  window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  114.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the
  115.  enter key.
  116.  
  117. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  118.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  119.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  120.  the window pops up enter the first
  121.  character of the file you wish to find.
  122.  The display will be repositioned to the
  123.  first file in the list that starts with
  124.  that letter. (NOTE since files are
  125.  stored in random order sort the list
  126.  first)

  128. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  129.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  130.  the tagged file display line at the
  131.  bottom of the screen.

  133. *altu    !!update-from-list!!
  134.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  135.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  136.  of files in a window.  After the window
  137.  is displayed you tag the files to
  138.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.
  139.  After all files have been tagged press
  140.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  141.  files.
  142.  
  143. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  144.  This option will display the master
  145.  comment record and the file comment
  146.  records for the selected compressed
  147.  file.
  148.  
  149. *altx  !!extract all!!
  150.  This option will extract ALL files from
  151.  the compressed file into the current
  152.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  153.  the ALT-P command.
  154.  
  155. *alty   !!run pgm on tagged!!
  156.  This option allows run a program against
  157.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  158.  to enter the program name to run, the
  159.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  160.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  161.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  162.  to pause after each execution of your
  163.  program.
  164.  
  165. *altz  !!virus check!!
  166.  This option will check files to see if they
  167.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  168.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  169.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  170.  and have used the configuration program to
  171.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  173.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK

  176. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  177.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  178.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  179.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  180.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  181.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  182.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  183.  compressed file contents screen.
  184.  
  185. *c  !!create-new!!
  186.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  187.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  188.  to enter the
  189.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  190.  compressed file to create, whether you
  191.  want to add or move files into the new
  192.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  193.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  194.  new compressed file.
  195.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  196.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  197.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  198.  PAK files!!!!!

  200.  You will also be asked if you want to
  201.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  202.  the entered file spec as is.
  203.  
  204.  If the compression program you choose
  205.  supports saving path information you will
  206.  also be asked if you want to save
  207.  directory information, and if you want to
  208.  recurse the directory tree.

  212.  This option will delete all tagged files
  213.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  214.  asked to verify the delete before the
  215.  files are actually deleted from the
  216.  compressed file.

  219.  This option will extract all tagged
  220.  files from the compressed file.

  222. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  223.  This option will activate the alternate
  224.  file viewer if one has been set via the
  225.  SHEZEV environment variable.  PLEASE SEE
  226.  THE USER MANUAL FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON
  227.  SETTING UP AN ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  228.  
  229. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  230.  This option will set the compressed
  231.  file's time and date to the time and
  232.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  233.  the compressed file.
  234.  
  235. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  236.  This option will untag all currently
  237.  tagged files.
  238.  
  239. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  240.  This option will tag all files in the
  241.  currently displayed window.
  242.  
  243. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  244.  This option will convert a self
  245.  extracting file back to its native
  246.  compressed file format. The self
  247.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  248.  The normal compressed file will be
  249.  built on the same drive and directory
  250.  where self extracting file is found.
  251.  
  252. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  253.  This option allows you to copy all
  254.  tagged files from the current compressed
  255.  file into another compressed file.  The
  256.  target compressed file may be any
  257.  currently supported format.
  258.  
  259. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  260.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  261.  drop you off into disk and directory
  262.  that is specified as the extract
  263.  location.
  264.  
  265. *d  !!delete one file!!
  266.  This option will delete the currently
  267.  highlighted file from the compressed
  268.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  269.  delete before the delete is actually
  270.  done.
  271.  
  272. *e  !!extract one file!!
  273.  This option will extract the currently
  274.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  275.  drive and directory, or the
  276.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  277.  the ALT-P command.

  280.  Using this option you can specify the
  281.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  282.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  283.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  284.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  285.  extensions.

  287. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  288.  This option will temporarily exit to
  289.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  290.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  291.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  292.  the return key.

  294. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  295.  This option will temporarily exit to
  296.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  297.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  298.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  299.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.

  301. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  302.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  303.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  304.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  305.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  306.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  307.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  308.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  309.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  310.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  311.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  312.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  313.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  314.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  315.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  316.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  317.  
  318. *f8  !!edit!!
  319.  This option will allow you to edit a
  320.  file in the compressed file.  This
  321.  option will only work if you specified
  322.  an editor to use when you configured
  323.  compressedPER.

  325. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  326.  Using this option you can specify how
  327.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  328.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  329.  Extension, or Date.
  330.  
  331. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  332.  This option will allow you to set the
  333.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  334.  programs.  When you set the compression
  335.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  336.  change it again.

  498.  pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  499.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  500.  extract a file from the compressed file.

  503.  This option allows you to specify if you
  504.  want to save and/or use path information
  505.  when working with compressed files.
  506.  
  507. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  508.  This option will immediately exit
  509.  SHEZ.
  510.  
  511. *r  !!run a file!!
  512.  This option will extract and run the
  513.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  514.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  515.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  516.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  517.  deleted.
  518.  
  519. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  520.  This option allows you to add and or
  521.  update the comment records associated
  522.  with the currently highlighted file.
  523.  
  524. *sfts  !!add/update file comments!!
  525.  This option allows you to add and or
  526.  update the comment records assocaited
  527.  with each file in the compressed file.
  528.  
  529. *t  !!test compressed!!
  530.  This option will test the integrity of
  531.  the compressed file.
  532.  
  533. *u       !!update!!
  534.  Using this option you can specify the
  535.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  536.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  537.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  538.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  539.  extensions.
  540.  
  541. *v  !!view!!
  542.  This option will allow you to view the
  543.  contents of a file in the compressed
  544.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  545.  to view the file.
  546.  
  547. *z  !!mask!!
  548.  This option allows you to specify a file
  549.  mask to be used when displaying the
  550.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  551.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  552.  only the files having an extension of C
  553.  will be displayed on the screen.
  554.  
  555. *malte !!edit highlighted file!!
  556.  This option will invoke the editor that
  557.  you specified when you configured SHEZ.
  558.  The highlighted file will be passed to
  559.  the editor.
  560.  
  561. *mcf4 !!delete tagged files!!
  562.  This option will delete all files that
  563.  have been tagged in the file window.
  564.  After all the files are deleted the file
  565.  window will be refreshed.
  566.  
  567. *mf3  !!view file!!
  568.  This option allows you to view the
  569.  highlighted file.
  570.  
  571. *mf4  !!delete file/dir!!
  572.  This option allows you to delete the
  573.  highlighted file/dir.  You will be
  574.  prompted to verify the delete.
  575.  
  576. *mf5  !!file stats!!
  577.  This option will display the highlighted
  578.  file's time,date,and size.
  579.  
  580. *mf6  !!toggle $.$ *.*!!
  581.  This option will toggle the DOS files to
  582.  display between the $.$ specification
  583.  and the *.* specification.
  584.  
  585. *mf9  !!file sort!!
  586.  This option will sort the file list by
  587.  File name, File extension, or File date,
  588.  depending on how you reply to the sort
  589.  prompt. Enter a N, E, or D.
  590.  
  591. *mf8  !!make sfx files!!
  592.  F8 will make a self extracting file from
  593.  the highlighted file.
  594.  SHIFT-F8 will make self extracting files
  595.  from all tagged files.
  596.  (ONLY ZIP,LZH,PAK, and SDN files are
  597.  currently supported)
  598.  
  599. *altb  !!browse a file!!
  600.  This option allows you to enter the name
  601.  of a file you wish to view.  The
  602.  user specified Browse program, that was
  603.  set during configuration, will be
  604.  use to Browse the specified file.
  605.  
  606. *malt-c  !!add/update file comments!!
  607.  This option allows you to add and or update
  608.  file comment records in all tagged
  609.  compressed files. You will be prompted for a
  610.  data file that contains the comment
  611.  record(s) you wish to add.
  612.  
  613. *malt-v  !!convert one file!!
  614.  This option will convert the highlighted
  615.  archive file from one format archive to
  616.  another format archive. You will be
  617.  asked if you want to delete the original
  618.  archive file after the conversion is
  619.  complete.
  620.  
  621. *mctl-v  !!convert tagged!!
  622.  This option will convert all tagged
  623.  archive file(s) from one format archive
  624.  to another format archive. You will be
  625.  asked if you want to delete the original
  626.  archive file(s) after the conversion is
  627.  complete.
  628.  
  629. *malt-r  !!reread directory!!
  630.  This option will reread the current
  631.  directory and refresh the displayed file
  632.  list.
  633.  
  634. *malt-w  !!write cfg file!!
  635.  This option will write the current SHEZ
  636.  configuration options out to a file
  637.  named SHEZ.CFG.  The file will be written
  638.  to the current disk:\directory.  This file
  639.  will be used by the SHEZCFG program to set
  640.  the default SHEZ program options when you
  641.  configure SHEZ.
  642.  
  643. *malt-z  !!virus check!!
  644.  This option will check ALL .COM ,.EXE, .OVL
  645.  files in all tagged compressed files,
  646.  to see if they have been infected with
  647.  a virus.  You must have the virus checking
  648.  program from McAfee Assoc. call SCAN.EXE

  726.  when processing ZIP and ARJ files.
